HIP (Healthy Incentives Program)

If you are a Massachusetts SNAP customer, you receive an instant dollar-for-dollar rebate when you buy fresh fruits and vegetables with SNAP. HIP benefits are based on household size:

  • For 1-2 people, you receive $40 per month
  • For 3-5 people, you receive $60 per month
  • For 6 and more people, you receive $80 per month.
How use HIP at Westfield Farmers Market:
  • Tell the vendor which produce items you'd like to buy using HIP.
  • If the vendor is not HIP authorized, then they'll fill out a slip for the items and the amount due.
  • Bring the slip to the WFM SNAP tent where we'll swipe your EBT card and charge for the items you're purchasing.
  • We'll stamp the vendor's slip and give you a receipt that also shows how much of your HIP benefit you've used this month. Return to the vendor with the stamped slip and receipt and pick up your purchase.
HIP is funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
